I bought some bosch super 4's.....need to know how to change the spark plugs on a saxo VTR.....it is not as easy and as apparent on most cars where you have four bits jutting out that shout 'oi mate, we are spark plugs' !!!!!! I have poked around under the bonnet...the only part that looks like it could be the spark plugs looks really difficult to get to without removing some serious engine.....
Has anyone got any ideas?????

Its always the same with bloody saxo's, you buy some simple mod, and shitreon design the car so bloody wierd that a should be simple job takes ages!!!
Like it took me and my mate 3 hours just to find the hole between the engine and the cabin, so i could put the power lead through for my amp.
Also I want one of those ripspeed cigy lighters, but shitreon have a completly different size from everyone else!!!

Is it difficult to remove the ignition coil? I always figured these things would be quite simple to replace....

your a lazy cunt.
On vts and later 1.4 and vtr models the plugs are located at the rear of the cyclinder head and can be accesed by removing the air intake ducting and ignition coil module
--------------------
TO remove the igniton coil.
Disconnect the battery negative lead
Unplug the wiring connector from the top of the igniton coil
where applicable unscrew the securing nut and remove the radio suppressor from the right hand end of the coil and its mounting bracket
undo the the securing nut and remove the hose clip support bracket from the left hand end of the coil module
remove the securing nuts and free the ignition coil module from its mounting studs. Carefully ease the HT extension pillars away from the tops of the sparks plugs and remove the module from the engine compartment.
refitting is a reversal of this
----------------
once the coil is removed it is advisable to remove the dirt from the spark plug recess using a clean brush or a hoover to prevent any dirt falling into the cyclinders and causing you more grief
unscrew the spark plugs using your spark plug socket carefully to much side ward force or any funny shit and you might break a bit off and it will fall in and your proper fucked.
examine the plugs for any sign of imminent explosion in your engine
if you need to adjust the gap in electrodes do it now but if the correct ones are bought then it shouldnt need to be done
before refitting the spark plug remember it is often difficult to thread the new plugs in without fucking the threads on the head so use this handy hint. Use some rubber hose over the top of the spark plug that holds the plug in but can easily be removed. use the rubber hose to twist the plug back in and if the hose starts to slip then its not htreading right so unscrew and start again by doing it this way not enough pressure is being applied to cross thread the head.
once you have screwed the plugs back in tighten the plug to the specified torque (25 Nm 18lbf ft)
put the coil back on and any other bits you have lying about.
job done
