Default Benefits System

Okay,

I just needed to have a rant about the benefits system.
I know a few people that have never worked at all in there life and live on benefits, they recieve there rent paid (or a large discount) and get a fair hand out every two weeks from our tax money.

I am a 19 year old lad, and have worked since i was 13, paid tax and NI since 16. I have recently moved out from my mum and dads and phoned the housing benefits to see if they could help support me with my rent as i am on a low wage, £14,498 per year. i was told that i earn 50p per month too much. i said i will tell my boss to pay me 50p less a month so that i will qualify and was told that this would not work as it is worked out on a percentage base I then tried working tax credits and was told that i need to be 25, or 16 with children to qualify. to which i replied, "fuck you then i will pack my job in and go on the dole full time and be better off".

Why does the benefits system give money to all the people that have never worked, paid tax or even lived in this fucking country but when somebody has paid tax into the system all there life and needs a small bit of help with there rent get told to go away ?

I can now see why we have so many people on the benefits system in this country . . . why work when you can be better off on the dole ?

Rant Over !!!

This is true, benefits system is on its ass.
A lad down the road from me has never worked and drives a 54plate impreza, I worked with my dad from 12 and full time since 16 and have a Y reg vtr.

Atleast we are 1 of the decent people that earns a living instead of being handed it

You feel that is a low wage for a 19 year old?

Dont get me started on this... My biggest bug bear. After people leaving their cars at a fuel pump THEN going and doing their weekly shop in the petrol station garage!

You cant have people "rotting in the street" so to speak, however most bleed the system for what they can get and take the piss.

One day I might be "ill"

14k is good for a 19 yo, however getting a house at that age wont be easy eitherway,

the benefits system is a joke and creates a gap between not working and working for good money as the inbetween dont see the point when they get more money not working..

But also for someone to be working full time on a good wage for their age and feeling they should be owed some kind of support with housing is exactly the attitude that creates this benefit culture

Only moaning as he didn't get any..

I'm off to fill up with petrol before the fucking Tories put the price up, less work more tax, fuck you David Cameron. In the interest of balance, Ed milliband has the charisma and leadership skills of a sack of horse shit. Oh yeah nick clegg's a communist cunt.

Countries gone to ruin! The lazy cunts on Benefits need a wake up call.

Labour dropped VAT to 15% fair enough only for a while, but I was loving 95p - £1 per litre during Feb-July 09. Think I even paid 89p at one point.

I wouldn't vote for Labour with that bellend in charge anyway, would have prefered David Miliband.

Conservative government is a joke, suits a very small amount of people. For others it literally eats them up and shits them out, one of those being me.

Proves my point. Petrol was going to drop a bit either way. http://www.whatgas.com/unleaded-graph.aspx

Why don't you either get a better job, cut back on a few things or move back home instead of expecting the state to support you? You haven't exactly put millions in the pot in your 3 years as a tax payer have you?

I take your point about the immigrant spongers though.

Personally i don't get benefits due to full time education ect... but EMA? What makes it fair that someone else is being paid to do exactly what i'm doing day in day out and im not ?? also my mums not been receiving child benefit for me for over 18 month, they keep telling her ' we cant find him on the system :@' and recently we've been told we cant receive previous payments that the've missed!!! Just shows how shit this governments benefits system is, people take the piss on the doll!

£14,000 is still plenty of money to live off. If you want more best to just work hard towards a better job. But do see your point it is ridiculous that people can be unemployed as a profession. Incidentally your getting paid so much that even if you where 25 you would be getting next to no if any tax credit.

We had a converstation about this in the workshop at work the other day. The older fitters where saying they should earn thier dole/benifits, by doing manual labour e.g. Cleaning out the canals/ponds/rivers.

I know of a few people who where kn the dole but looking for work and others who are also on the dole but not looking. And then using the money for both drink and drugs.
