track day semi slicks
right...
i was planning on getting federal fz-201, but now it seem they have jacked the price up from 83 quid to 97 quid!!!!
so it now works out cheap to get 888's but there other option which are like a between fast road and semi slicks like ad08's and the federal 595rs-r's been reading that the 595 are close to the 888's but unsure it that right as the treadwear is totally different i.e. 595 are 140 treadwear.
but unsure as the ad08 and 595, are 70ish quid and the 888 and fz201 are 95-97 quid,
the yoko are like 116 everywhere!! so they are bit too high, just want a good track tires, so could do with some input really.
many other option, with prices, end off the day i am not going in competion, so want a good price tires that will offer a good feedback on the track, dnt fancy going over 100 quid, each so 400 quid is max,
many thanks
andy

yer i seen them too, would be a good option do they have stiff sidewalls? like the 888?
maybe go for them as they are 49 quid or soemthing and if they are not too good not too expensive and just burn them up.

every track is known as a trye eater lol, well they all say that and brake killer!! hahaha
yer i know they will be very good like 888 but really are they all worth 100 quid a corner for abit off fun?
like when there are a few which would last longer and cheaper? i know you get what you pay for but i just weighting the option at the moment.
i would love the 201 really or 888's but just looking at option and input really.

listen to me andy, theses are the only tires you should be considering.
forget the price as they do actually work out cheaper in the end.
yoko a048r
kumho v70a
dunlop direzza d03g

just to add andy, this extra £££ your pumping into your engine for an extra 10-15bhp?? is MUCH less value for performance than buying a proper set of track tyres.

i do rate the r888 but they are by no means the best option. the tyres that i listed are the options i will be considering when i have to buy new ones.. im not even considering the r888 now.
edit:
there is a reason lotus use a048r's on their new cars and the radical set the 'ring "record" on the dunlops and the kumhos are getting rave reviews and tom rates them very highly and they will last 3 times longer than r888 wich makes them great value for money.

im considering a048's or those dunlops for next year
imo andy id save a bit longer rather than buying cheaper tyres and not being happy with them i know its alot of money per tyre...even try to find a set of part worns as long as they havent go graining you will be okay with them
