Hi all, just thort id post my new rally car project for you all to have a buchers at throughout the build if anyone is interested.
the idea was i need a toy as i am board, the saxo was sat there doing nothing so it begun the creative fluids churning, I want to do it on a shoe string but also have a nice tidy finish to her, the current engine will be binded (open to offer if some 1 wants a 1.6 vtr engine/loom) and replaced by a 1400 that has had a good amount of tuning as it was built for my last rally car, when running it should have around 130 hp and be nice an revy.
The car is my old citroen saxo vtr, a little rusty but nothing that a welder wont sort.(turns out a bit rustyer than first thort

)
Currently over the 2 days iv had on it she is now stripped of most crap mainly the inside with a little more to remove (tho a little more drastic than removing the seats n carpets) to finish lighterning the shell up.
yesterday i finish removing the engine and wiring and started cleaning the engine bay ready for a grit blastin sesh to get it ready for repair, roll cage and paint.
I have the cage on order so should be with me within the month, by the time it gets to me the shell will be repaired, seam welded, lightend and ready for the cage.
I will make a photo album of progres and keep you all up to date.
if you have any questions or would like to give me any opinion please do and i hope you enjoy following the project.
Pic's to follow as i need to find my box of trick so i can get my pic's off my phone.
Still to do:
Remove all silly bolts out of the floor from the clips
Remove all unused tin work
Remove larger bits of tin out of the pannels to save weight
grit blast and chop out all rust and repair/fill unused holes
this should keep me buzzy for a day or so.
