Engine cuts out

Hi all,

Started my Saxo yesterday morning it was quite frosty. The engine when started was making a dull noise and the engine light came on. When I took the foot off of the accelerator the revs died to nothing and the car stalled, I tried this twice and twice it stalled. I reved it for a couple of minutes and again the engine did not sound right so I switched it off and on again and it started running fine?

This happened again this morning, but during the day as with yesterday it runs fine, any ideas?

Mine sometimes cuts out pulling up to a junction when i put my clutch in, I have no idea what it is, i have some other problems that need sorting like alternator so im guessing that'll sort mine ¬¬

When was it last serviced?

battery could have taken it's toll with the cold weather

this happened to me recently, fixed it my changing coil pack and cleaning the ICV with some carb cleaner
