hi, im fairly new on here but i would appreciate any help i could get. the auto diagnosis symbol on the dash has appeared on my vtr and any timw when the car is running but still e.g at lights there is a really strong petrol/ horrible smell that appears and i have no idea what it is. any ideas any one?

sounds like your mixture is wrong to me...but im no expert... so when ur at a stand still its coming out your exhaust and smelling ?...ull have to wait for a responce from one of thee guru's

Mine smells of petrol and i get wank fuel consumption.

Could it be the mixture ???

my 306 was crap on petrol bout 50 miles to a 10er, on a 1.6 8 valve. Turned out it was the timing belt was just out a few notches.
