going mat black. need advice.
smashed the saxo up. sh*t happens  going to be rebuilding the front but pannels will be differnet coulurs so going to go matt black. what sort of prep work have people done before they have done this ? and what type of paint ? want a good finish but dont want to spend loads. any help would be appreciated

matt blacks one the hardest colours to do,...
prep wise sand it all down with some p320... pannel wipe, prime, tracey coat it, sand with 500 spray...
then use light coats of matt black as you cant flat it out as it will ad shine, you can buy matt clear though i wud advise using some

If your doing it the cheap way there really isn't much prep. Just clean the car then key the surface with a scowering pad and spray/roller straight on. Over time you will have to touch bits up if you dont use a clear coat

matt black is the future... i did my old 306  its prity easy, just sand it down with water, using 1200, 600, 400, 250. primer and matt. satin is easyier but matt blacks matt black... it looks goood

hmm im undecided. i would colour code the bumpstrip but that bumpers in 3 or 4 pieces wedged in some bushes lol. need to replace bonnet, bumper, wing, slam pannel and grille. not worth paying to have it resprayed imo. dont think i could affoed insurence on a vtr yet although i havent looked.
