Immobiliser iirc. Assume the car doesn't turn over when it's flashing.

Yeah, get it to a garage. Basically the car does not recognise the key even though it is the right one (It thinks somone is trying to start it with a fake key and therefore tries to prevent you "stealing" it). I had this on my vtr but never bothered getting it fixed.

ok thanks if i did and engine change from furio to vtr would this still be the problem or would it go away

Would go away as you would need an unlocked ecu for that or would have to change all the barrels to the car the engine came off.
