Here it is guys.....I was asked to review these LED Undercar kits once they were fitted.
I bought this from mattyp....he is our local 'distributor' for these lights! Reasonable price for what they say they can do. Apparently, they are indestructable.
I have only tested this by mistake once, when I accidently dropped one of the tubes from quite high up onto a hard concrete floor. NOT EVEN A SCRATCH.
Inside the package comes 4 tubes, one for each side of the car and one for the back and one for the front.
Also there are loads of brackets (in case you want to bracket up with more than one or two brackets.), there are also loads of cable cases, these are little cases that you attach to something, place the cable inside then the lid snaps firmly shut. quite good.
So I decided to start preparing the underside of the car for mounting these LED tubes.
First of all, you have to (temporarily) wire up the control panel to the battery (always remember neutral first!!!) then plug in each of the four tubes to the control box and lay them around the car to set the sequence in which they should be placed....
The reason for this is that there is one of the sequences on the control box in which the light travels from one tube to the next and then the next and so on until it goes all the way round the car.
Very cool. Unless you have got the tubes mixed up.
At this point I marked the tubes as to which tubes would go where under the car and then I set to work fitting the brackets.
I jacked the car up to fit the brackets as I didn't need to be that far under the car...just at the edge.
I fitted the side brackets by unscrewing one of the sill screws, placing it into the bracket and then screwing it back in. I screwed the other side straight into the underside of the sill.
The Rear LED brackets were more difficult to fit as there was nothing back there to screw it into.
I used superglue on the inside of the back bumper to hold the bolts on....brilliant...completely and utterly unseen and well away from the exhaust.
The front LED was a little easier as I could just cable-tie this LED to the cross-member.
Once I had the brackets in, I then had to run an extension cable from the battery to the control box as the cable supplied with the control box would not have run far enough to place the control box down by the right-hand side of the driver - which is what I wanted.
I connected a five metre electrical cable to the battery, then fed it through an existing (AMP) hole into the dash, behind the heaters, into the drivers side. A lot more difficult than it sounds!!!!!
Now I was ready to fit the LED tubes themselves.
I was not quite prepared to get under the car completely with it only on a Jack as I don't own any axle stands. So I have a friend who works for Honda as a car salesman, and he let me borrow their hydraulic ramps all day on a sunday.
Once the car was in the air i placed all of the tubes into their respective positions and tested them again. Once satisfied that they were all fine I then started temporarily running the cables. The important thing to remember when running the cables along the underside of the vehicle is that you cannot cross the exhaust as this will fry the cable on the first long journey you do.
I used cable-ties to keep the cables flush and secure to the underside of the car, and as I reached the front, I cable tied the cables to the metal brake tubes to take it into the top of the engine. Once all cable were in the top of the engine bay I cable tied them to the engine bay...keeping them clear of any moving parts and anything that might get hot.
I then had to drill a hole into the insid
