Default De-cat for furio

I wanted to get a decat for my furio but some say they are only suitable for saxo's that have the lambda sensor on the pipe itself. Do furio's have the sensor on the pipe? Never had a decat before so this is all new to me

A lamba sensor is always going to be on the pipe mate as it controls the fuel and air mixture needed for the exhaust. When you jump from cat to no cat some saxo's dont like it as their has been times were peoples rev counter automatically rises by itself, as the sensor has been used to having a cat but now differant the sensor gets confused.

Is your cat in the mani? is so you have quite a job on your hands and probs not worth doing unless you can get a dodgy MOT

If its on the centre section thats fine just get a standard saxo pipe that doesnt have a cat on it (think most mrk2) thats what i did on mine and easy enough to swap over for mot. If not a new mani is needed either with a race cat or a decat altogether

Bit of a noob question. What is the advantage to decat a car. Is it just to make extra noise?

Mainely for extra noise but can inprove flow through the exhaust as its not restricted by the cat and can inprove bhp but were talking no more than 15 max so not a great deal, will only see in vtr/s cars for a bigger improvment, you tend to use up more fuel than normal too as their is no cat to convert are try to reuse unburnt fuel with a decat is streight out so heavely polutes.

And yes pipe with no cat will do the trick same situation as mine mate easier than swappinf the mani in and out
