Default sound deadening help

ok, don;t really want this for audio perposes 100% more for stopping exhaust sounds on longer journeys and as added extra getting better audio.
so found proper dynomat for a good price, so if i got this where would i lay it to stop outside noise? all over car floor just boot, roof n doors or quite litterally buy enough to cover whole car?
i have seen fishers prog and where he did his, but kinda on a budget but also know u get what u pay for

the boot floor, exposed metal of boot lid, and the bit where the boot lid meets the boot (where the backs of the lights screw into) works out as roughly 13sq ft.

to stop exhaust noise. the best solution would be to get a quieter exhaust.

but the boot floor under the carpet should be sufficient enough to reduce noise. the main carpet has sound deadening under it and the rear bench will absorb a fair bit of noise too.

exhaust noise travels through every part of the car though, so if you want it basically all gone, then you'll have to cover the whole car with it.

yep. motorways and aftermarket exhaust suck the big one.

id assume the majority of the noise was coming from the boot as theres no real deadening under the boot carpet.

rear seats should deaden a fair bit of noise, as should the carpet / deadening under the front seats.

best bet is to do the boot. then go from there, if you need more, then get more. after the boots done you should theoretically be able to pin point where the drones getting in from easier

yea at mo theres bugger all in boot except the mdf for the subs. so ordered 36 square ft of deadening will start on boot floor and under rear seats. and maybe doors and go from there. hoping to do a lil of roof too and hopefully that will get rid of a lil noise on the longer journeys.

good stuff mate. adding deadening anywhere can only do good in a saxo. theyre pretty thin throughout. so should be a lot better when done!
