Default Revs sticking inbetween gear changes?

Another problem with my Sax, yay..!

Basically when I go through the gears the revs don't start to drop as soon as I take my foot off the accelerator, they stick at the revs I was at for about a second and then start to drop.

It feels down on power but I'm just guessing that's because the revs are staying up whilst I change gear so I don't feel the little push-back in my seat again as I would when rebuilding the revs up.

When not in gear and just stood still, the revs drop back down straight after the foot is taken off as normal, just seems to be sticking when going through the gears or something...

Anyone have any ideas what this could be or could be related to?

Thanks in advance

not sure if this is related but my cars been doing this then after a while of the revs sticking the car started misfiring found out its a dodgy coilpack on mine but mine used to sometimes stick even when not in gear though it did eventually drop and mostly did it when the engine was hot
