Default Passenger Door Lock What To Do?

Hi Guys. Bought my Saxo VTR a couple of months ago now and when i got it the previous owner said the car had an attempted break in, luckily the aftermarket alarm deterred them. But the passenger door look had been left buggered and they had also left a hole just below the lock in the door. This had happened 3 years or so ago and the guy had just lived with a buggered lock and a sticker over the hole. I'm a bit OCD about it and want to get it fixed, plus it cant be good having a hole in your door for obvious reasons. Wondered if anyone has any ideas? Thought about maybe taking the lock out and filling the gap/spraying it over. But my mate said i'd never be able to match the paint and would I have central locking issues? Would i have any other options maybe a new door, are they easy to fit? A few thoughts would be a great help thanks

Got a few pictures to show the damage, hopefully i've done them right i'm new to this posting business sorry!

The second picture looks alright, is that what you did or the sticker you mentioned ? ..... Id just leave it like that .... In all honesty mate if someone wants in on your saxo they smash a window, or bend the door ( providing your pins are still in there ) and lift the pins up.

The most cost effective way would be to buy another in the same colour from a scrappy,if your lucky you might find the original car key/s lying about in the car.Which would save you buying a new lock.

the second picture is the sticker over the whole. Its ok for the moment but i'm after a more permanent solution because i don't think its waterproof.

If it really bothers you then the only options to fix it are get it smoothed over and sprayed professionally or get another door of the same colour, with it being the passenger side in my opinion it wouldnt really matter if you get a lock that your key wont fit coz its not very often your gonna go to the passenger side to unlock the car and the central locking will unlock it anyway.
