So how long do you guys spend at the gym. I'm following a routine at the moment which excluding cardio takes about 40 mins, but I've noticed some people spend hours working out. Surley lifting wieghts for so long cant be right

I'm normally lifting for around 50 mins, if I do cardio I'm there for around an hour and a half-ish

Glad it's not just me then. I tend run for 20-30 mins. Then with lifting I do 3 or 4 exercises 5 sets of 5. Which takes 40mins. I guess if you do high reps for toning then you might take longer.

If you want to see proper results you'll not work out for hours, and you'll not work out everyday,
'I work out for 5 Hours everyday' May look good on paper, but it surely won't bring about crazy results.
If your serious about your training, re-search P90x or Insanity. Seriously.

Time spent in the gym or 'volume' (Amount of sets, exercises etc) is detimined by how much abuse your body can take. If your using steroids you can train longer, if your workout nutrition is spot on you can train longer. But if your natural and your diet is the pits then you will 'overtrain' very easily.
Overtraining is a popular subject because many people can different opinions. But I just think its a matter of trial and error for the gym goer. If your DOMS are too great, then train less and visa vera.

By myself, like 50 mins or so.
With a mate, 2 hours maybe. But this is including a bit of talking, messing around etc.
Also if the boxing equipment comes out means it could be a late night

does messing around mean swapping underpants in the toilet?

1hr 30 almost every time we go. Any longer your either overtraining or doing to many muscle groups at once.

Went the gym for a while but stopped, can get everything I need to do in the house or down the Boxing gym so it was pointless tbh If my goal was to get enormous then I would but it's not lol - But when I did go I spent between an hour and an hour and a half, some might say too much but some of it was spend doing cardio

Fantastic response.
As for the gym, about an hour, but really shouldn't go over the 45 minute mark...

What exactly did you think when you wrote the reply? "Well, this guy wants to know how long people spend in the gym, so I'll tell him I don't even go to a gym any more and not even bother answering the question." I don't have any vendetta against you, you aren't worth it, just some of your responses are proper head scratchers.

"you aren't worth it" - Did you seriously just say that
And awfully sorry? I have edited it to say how long I used to spend in the gym, sorry for the error sir.
