Having had the joy of doing a trackday in one, I agree. Brakes feel wooden, steering feels numb, gearing makes a VTR look good.
Bet it's quick though. +50bhp from the flamer kit IIRC.

I remember driving one of those, was a nice drive surprisingly. shite exterior and interior but nippy and light responsive steering despite not having power steering in there.
One of my mates swears by fiat despite having none of his cars making it alive past the 100.000 miles. beyond that it would cost more to repair than the cars worth.

yeah the uno turbo was around (and one of the competitors really) back in my R5 days. Them and rs turbo's were mainstream. They were as you say, a surprisingly fair little car, the the interior was shocking, and they really did just rust apart. Really don't see many nowadays, and thats probably why. See a lot more R5's today than uno's thats for sure.

My cousin used to own one kicking out about 280BHP, fooking quick that was but I bet in comparison to the 106 Ross it was nothing

280 from the 1.4?
Back then, I was rocking about 230hp in the R5 - and that was pretty much on the limits for it's time lol. Head gasket tastic!
