Default blown radiator

Upon arriving home from work today i hear a almighty bang... Jump out open bonnet to find the bottom right hand of my radiator gone and coolant everywhere.. excellent....

Now i have been thinking about Using a 1.5D radiator setup for a while as i was planning on a low boost turbo conversion at some point for giggles..

So my question good people...

Who here runs a 1.5D radiator system? either on a standard engine or turboed?

Benefits? drawbacks?

it will be easier to bleed for a start which is always good but what are the draw backs? also i was thinking of running a lower temp thermostat an 88degree one rather then the 92deegree (iirc) one as standard...

again any feed back would be great (eg do i need to change the top hose etc and a list of whats needed off the 1.5d apart from rad and expansion tank)

thanks in advance ladies

(please no just get a replacement nissen radiator posts)

EDIT- Using a standard 1.5D / 106D expansion tank = relocating the ecu for room, so its a custom header or someone mentioned a r5 header but i need to look into this more...

Mines just gone in garage today for a nissens radiator and thermostat fitting but he did tell me to go for the 1.5 diesel radiator as hese certain there bigger so would keep things cooler but decided on the nissens.
