it is but would you really want Third Party Fire and Theft?!? its not a great idea as ull have nothing left if you crash it, which at 18 years old is quite likely lol
You also have to consider the fuel costs of a vts, aswell as tax ect they are not cheap to run and fairly unrealiable engines IMO
Think carefully before you do it, i had a VTS when i was 18 and the head blew at 54,000 miles and ended up costing more to repair then the car was worth.
How much have you got to spend on a VTS? You not interested in VTR?
Last of all who is that quote with? im 19 (soon to be 20) and i couldnt get a quote much less than £1500 with any1 i cant justify spending over £100 a month on car insurance.... specially when im paying £78 a month FULLY COMP on a VTR....

are you male or female, id take a stab at saying your female?....
And therfore no wonder your insurance quote is cheaper, blokes always miss out, girls can pritty much have whatever car they want straight after passing ..... where as blokes get charged about £1000 a year with a few years ncb

admiral and elephant wont even insure me, 19 1 years NCB, they wouldnt even insure me on a VTR, i had to go with quinn direct!!
Can some1 answer me this:
I started driving 5th September 2004 - i have 1 years ncb, so in september i will have 2. However i took my insurance policy out in march for my vtr, so will my ncb come into effect in september or do i have to wait for the new renewal to use my 2 years ncb?

im with quinn direct atm. at 18 with a years no claims they'll insure me for 730 quid tpft but wont insure me on a vts. so with this insurance thing mate...you started your insurance in sept 2004 and then on sept 2005 you had a years no claims and then what did you do? did u keep that policy running and then change it over to the vtr in march?

i had a 1.0 from september 2004 - 2005, then when renewing went from tesco to quinn direct, provided them with proof of 1 years ncb, and then got a vts. Cancelled that after 3 months due to car head gasket going and sold it for a vtr so started a new policy again in march 2006. But i have been driving and insured on the road sinse sept 2004?! confusing! between the mossong months i was with norwhich union insured on a 206!!
yer £700 was about rite for me aswell tpft on a vtr but i went fully comp for £900. I DID have a vts insured when i was 18 with quinn direct for £1200 TPFT but then when i went to get a quote for another 1 they said they wouldnt insure me!? i said to them about having 1 areadsy they checked and said oh yer u have but the policy changed sinse then, grr.

yeh im reconsidering getting a vts as a vtr is cheaper to buy and will be half the cost of the insurance. as with your insurance, you have to be with the same company for a year to get a years no claims otherwise it just goes down as a years driving experience (i think) because after a years worth of insurance with a company they send you the paperwork to prove you have a years no claims dont they? whereas because you've been insured on different cars with different companies i dont think they'd count that as a years no claims even though that seems a bit daft. im not 100% sure on this tho mate so best bet would be to ask your insurance company or do some research on the net. (or just wait for someone else to reply )

Yeah he is.. Well im 99% sure he is. If you kept with same insurance company and just swopped the insurance over you would be fine but soon as you cancel it you have lost however long you had done on that policy. So you would have to start agen.
And back to topic that is a very good quote. But make sure its for deffinate that you can get it before getting a vts. And depending on how much your going to spend on a vts. If over 2 grand id advise going comp not TPFT.
How much would it be if you changed it from a vts to a vtr? Im with elephant and it only went up by 300 or somethink for vts. But i doubt it id be able to afford running it. And i would have only been able to afford a 70k+ vts. Went for a vtr with 43k on it instead.
