Anyone had any experience of these guys? I've emailed them twice now (once directly and once through their contact us page) and haven't received any response...

I'm presuming their still trading - unfortunately it's hard for me to contact them by phone during their office hours.

I wouldnt worry about not being able to call them, they dont pick up the phone either.

I tried contacting them numerous times when I had planned a 16v turbo build, not once did I get to speak to them and that was over a year ago.

Might be worth speaking to Bic/Streamline Carbon to see if they have a better contact number for WRL.

For all the hassle of getting hold of them, I'd still love them to wire up a car for me; if I ever get round to building one.

Thanks mate - I'm working along the same lines - will build my own loom completely over the winter with as much of the right components as I can source (dr25 etc, deutch connectors and the like) but for the hassle was going to see how much they wanted. Looks like I'm not the only one with issues getting hold of them.

I was actually going to call Bic tbh - great minds think alike!

Heres a couple of pictures of mine Ross......he can custom make them to your spec. All wires are covered with heatshrink and labelled to prevent any confusion.

Im a perfectionist and have to say i cant fault his work.

well i hope your sitting down when you do contact them i asked and they wanted 1500 + for a engine loom

Thanks James - helpful I can build it myself to something similar of a standard of that I think (I'm fairly handy with wiring) - I was looking for something like this:





Full bucketed autosport connectors, raychem joints, epoxy sealed heatshrink (in dr-25). etc. A real top job. (No offence meant to Sandy at all if he can produce this).

And thanks Wassy - I'm expecting a high charge for the standard I want. Their work looks very good and the material costs are very high (the autosport connectors range from about £100 each to deep pockets - just for a bloody connector!)

Two parts to my loom shown, first part is the entirely new ECU loom, which is externally pretty simple looking, but the wires, joints, seals and configuration are to a high standard, to ensure consistant ECU performance and reliability (I make ECU looms for several race/rally engine builders, which are used on some of the best competition cars in the country). The second part shown is simply the original engine loom reduced to essentials and re-sleeved; I basically do that part for £50 and as such it's not going to look a slick as a MIL spec loom costing £1000's. But it works, retains all the gauge functions and is very easy to fit (plug and play, literally), that's the point of it.

MIL spec looms are the industry standard for high level competition, but they are VERY expensive and don't really gain you anything. Heavier, no more reliable than what I do, in my experience and alterations or diagnostics are very difficult to perform. I know they look nice, but it's an area of the car that can absorb huge amounts of money, to no benefit.

Thanks for the detail Sandy - it wasn't a criticism as I said - I'm after something a bit special that's all. The MIL spec connectors really are something and I want to include them where I can that's all, along with dr25 covering for protection (as it's so much thinner overall than split plastic tubing which is what I ran last year).

I'm sure a compromise is in order (for me!).
