Was def better when it didn't rely on swearing to get a cheap laugh, and then waste time on the likes of "Conway Twitty", silly musical numbers, the falling over skit then holding their knee, or Cleveland falling in his bath. Shit like this just wasted time so they could make the 20 odd minutes they needed to fill their slot.
The Star Wars saga showed that they had it in them to atleast try but they put out a half assed version with #3. I really would say that Indiana Jones would be good to parody aswell
Quagmire or Herbert would get my vote.

Yep.
Although (apart from the few most recent episodes) its been in decline for the past 3 - 4 seasons which is a shame. I think American Dad has easily over taken it now.. Probably not in popularity but if you actually watch it I think it's much funnier these days.
Early fam guy, like season 1 - 6 were the funniest cartoons ever made imo.

I get the newest season every christmas lol.
I love it when I'm at Katie's, she goes to sleep just before Family Guy and American Dad start on BBC 3 so i get to watch them all uninterupted
