Default overheating problems

please help..when driving earlier the temperature gauge of my saxo 1.4 came on just after halfway..checked expansion tank + theres a bit of gunge on it also white gunge on rocker cover cap..the light goes on + off on the gauge, ..any advice.. thanks guys appreciated

Sounds like headgasket, it has good anti freeze hasn't it?

yes anti freezed it other week there mate..u reckon thats what it is?

Not 100% head gasket, but highly likely... Or maybe a crack in the head due to cold weather?

well either way hopefully its the head gasket but water and oil are mixing.. when was the oil last changed? or flushed the system? head of blockages of thickened oil in the head and blowing the gasket out to relieve the pressure...
