Default Clay bars rule!!!

After many hours of researching all the various car cleaning methods on here and Polished Bliss I thought I'd dedicate both myself and my wallet to the car cleaning cause.

I picked up some Meguiars Gold class shampoo, liquid gold polish and some detailer which came with a magical clay bar . I'm going to get some more stuff from polished bliss in the next couple of days to build up my quality car cleaning products.

I aslo followed there "2 bucket method" and other car washing tips which made life so much easier

The car was only cleaned the other week so it wasn't to bad to begin with:

I applied some shampoo with a wash mit rather than a sponge and rinsed it off with a flow of water rather than a spray as advised by PB. I've never used expensive shampoo before and didn't think it could make that much difference but the car was shining better than when I washed & waxed it with all my old (cheaper) products, I was amazed it was well worth the money:

The picture doesn't do it much justice but the light was quite dull.

After that I dried it all off with a good old Chamoise (I havent got round to the waffle towels yet but there on the list) and started to use the clay bar and detailing spray.

In all honesty I didn't really have a clue what they were all about or what they did but people had been raving about them so I thought I'd give it ago.

I was amazed at how good the car looked and after a few panels I was really getting the hang of how to get the best of it. I still cant believe the difference it made:

The only downside is its a really time consuming job but no pain, no gain

With the success of the clay bar I had hope for the polish, i may have applied it abit thick to start off with as it took ages to buff it up but once complete it looked brilliant and gave a really good mirror finish.:

Well impressed with the results although I only managed to do the front end as my girlfriend threatened to lock me out unless I left "the bloody car alone" but its all good in the interests of before and after shots

I may have caught the cleaning bug.

LOL I usually put my lowering disclaimer on any posts that contain a picture of my car so here goes:

*Coilovers are on there way the car will be on its arse soon enough so there's no need to tell me to lower it.

Are you taking the piss?

I'm quite happy with the grill, which is unusual for me.

It took hours as I'm also polishing it at the same time, the tailgate and the roof were to worst places to clay bar for some reason.

Its seems pretty durable so I cant see why not but the fine detailer doesn't seem to last as long but I may have been a bit trigger happy with that .

I've just finished cleaning it now, it looks amazing the celaning stuff was worth every penny.

I'll get some pics up in a few minutes...
