My mates dad soon, he has a serious obsession with perfection. Full on rally quatro. Just need to find him a ruined head before he's let loose with mine and my mates.

Sandy's a very hard man to get hold of

Not yet, either way if you're looking for it done right now you're looking at about 600.

How serious do you want the head? Sandy or JP (my engine developer) are as good as it gets, but you need deep pockets.

Do you have an end objective - power, type of engine (NA/boost) etc? What's your total budget for the entire engine do you know that yet?

Plenty of places will offer "porting and polishing" but most make the head worse not better. Polishing in the wrong places severely affects airspeed (negatively) and is a detriment to performance. Choose carefully! Your whole engine depends (or is restricted by!) the quality of your headwork.

well im looking at boost in the future but atm im looking to free the head up abit to improve the flow of gasses on basics mods e.g s/s 421, supersprint, vtr inlet on a 1.4, enclosed induction and a new cam ( trying to get a J cam) so would be looking at getting it done to help with the mods listed till i go boost then i WILL be looking at spending a fair bit, been enquiring into a full rebuild with new gaskets, seal etc....

J cam has fractionally more peak lift (0.25mm) and duration at the valve than Z cam, but barely enough to make any noticeable difference. I wouldn't go seeking a J cam if I had a Z cam already.
