Same on one of my arches few different sealants on mine sum idiot has prob used no more nails on mine lol.. Let us know how you get it off as I will b doin the same when my wheel arch clips arrive

I used hot soapy water then got the rest off with a clay bar.

petrol wont damage your paint because when you fill up at a petty station you always get paint on the car and it doesnt nothing just give it a wipe after with a bit of quick detailer or something iv used it on my car getting tar off before

tried all methods hot soapy water worked best but, its hard work.

Get something like this. I'm a mastic/sealant man by trade and this is what i use to clean my gun's etc up with. Only thing being is i'm not 100% about the paint. Should be fine. Doesn't do any major damage if you get it your hands.
