However, my life just doesn't seem complete without a Saxo on the driveway, so with the Mk3 GTi needing some cash spending on it I bit the bullet, took it off the road, went on the hunt for a Mk2 VTR or VTS and stumbled across this:
2002 VTR with 65k on the clock at a very reasonable price.
So across I tootled to Liverpool where the seller met me with the car and I drove home with a massive grin on my face.
Current spec:
2002 VTR
MAK Racing 15" alloys
Apex suspension kit, lowered around 30-40mm
Bits painted green
Window tints
106 GTi interior
Clean interior
Other than that standard

Cheers man.
Not planning on spending as much time getting this looking as nice as the old VTS, instead I'll be concentrating my efforts on transplanting a Honda CTR lump into it and killing tyres/driveshafts on the drag strip

Hell yeah! Won't be for a while but IT WILL happen!
I originally wanted to do it in the Carbon roofed, caged Mk1 shell I had but I needed the space on my driveway. Now I have a spare driveway I can store/work on cars

Cheers dude, this wasn't my first saxo. My forst was a venetian red VTR which I bought in 1999, I'm actually that old!
A B16b engine can be had for around £1500 all in with gearbox and ecu

Looks clean in the pics but it really does need some effort. It's had a front end shunt at some point so all the front end has been swapped and badly painted. Also all the body trims need new clips all round and the colour coding is iffy at best!
It'll get some tlc but I refuse to spend a fortune on the bodywork on this

Cheers man, and I totally agree.
I'm planning on leaving the Mk3 laid up for 15 years so that some mug eventually pays over the odds for a knackered old "dub"
But yeah, I totally agree!

Soon as I read 'B16' I went from ''another shitty chav mobile'', ''to fuck me this is gonna be good.'' B16's are so expensive considering a D16Z6 is about £200 all in and only about 30hp less. Best of luck with it as its going to be a massive ball ache to fit.
