Infact when was it last serviced?

if its when your flooring it could be lambda sensor or tps/map as its confusing it and possibly throwing more fuel in which takes the car a while to get more air to make it accelerate, just a guess but id try putting your foot 3/4 down and 1/2 down and see if it accelerates any better (e.g. floor in then let up to 3/4 and see if it returns)

Mine used to do this, then I changed the plugs and leads and it solved it.

I hope I have helped.

thanx guys. Just to let you know the problem has been solved. My friend whoz a top tech found that i had some contaminated fuel at the bottom of my tank, so all we done to fix this was drive till i ran out of fuel then filled up the tank and added some fuel injector treatment. since then all has been going well (touch wood lol). Also just to let you know when the fuel light in your vtr comes on you have 44miles till the car cuts out lol.

it's called the reserve mate, 5 litres to be precise
and to be honest i'm surprised a tech told you the best way to get rid of contaminated fuel was to drive until you run out of fuel, thus firing the contaminated fuel all through the fuel lines, filter, injectors etc..... should have syphoned the petrol and started from scratch
