Wiring Components
Ive come across some Alpine type R component speakers, just wondering how to wire them up...
ive got the cross over and all that sorted, just ive got the wires coming from it to connect, what/ how do i connect them? as with my old speakers the wire was just the same thickness as the standard wires, but this time they are alot thicker think they are 8 gauge (sp) so not very thick but alot thicker than standard wire, so how do i connect them up as i dont have a clue...

if your just using the normal speaker wire, best bet is get some at the same gauge and run the new wire to the crossover, if you put some shrink wrap on solder the joint, as I'm not keen on the block things, but saying that you could use them then eleci tape round them, if you don't want to change the wire, you can just use the block again, hope that helps

ive got it going from speaker to cross over and tweeter, but then theres no sound, as i need to connect up the 2 wires which should go to the head unit, but what im saying is can i just block connect them up to the old speaker wires which go direct to the head unit? its just that they are different thickness
