Like dodgy ignition Barrel, but NOT barrel?!

Can anyone suggest?

Got a problem like the ignition barrel is playing up:

- Electric windows operate with key out.
- Blower and Rear heated windows will operate when key turned two notches along, but the car ISN'T running.
- PAS pump running when key turned two notches along, but the car ISN'T running.
- Other similar, but intermittent stuff.

Have disconnected the three leads from the barrel and problem seems to still be there (although I can't test the other bits, the electric windows still operate and shouldn't).

Any suggestions what it could be? Have taken out all the relays one at a time to see if it makes a difference with no joy.

Sounds like a switched live has got muddled with a permanent live mate.

A faulty alternator can cause weird stuff like this to happen too, had it happen on other cars but not a saxo
