Im getting a 1.1 gear box put in my car this week is it true that it makes it faster i no it will make it slower top end but im just thinking about setting off

I dint say the car is a vtr

it will accelerate quicker yes. However, the 1.1 box is a really poor match for the VTR engines power delivery IMO - you'll regret it. Don't forget you should also fit the 1.1 shafts (and hubs if required).

I did a vtr conversion the other day, left the 1.1 gear box and shafts etc on.. It's got good acceleration and tops out at 120mph.. Which as i dont have to do many motorway miles at the moment its fine. I thought about it like this: If i pull up next to another vtr engined car, i'd rather be able to beat it off the line because were not likely going to be going 120+
