yellowtop in mk2 vts

hi, just had my sound system fitted and upgraded the standard battery to a yellowtop, everything was fine except the fact the car would no longer start... after several weeks back and forth to citroen being diagnosed, the yellowtop had effectively "blown up" the ecu due to the higher amp capacity... one hefty bill later and a new ecu, it's all been fixed ready for collection tomorrow, has anyone had any experience of this happening before and is it likely to happen again? can't really afford to have the same problem reoccur... thanks for any help

battery would not do that to the ecu, its 12v same as the last battery, must have been something else

thats true what scott said, i could of shorted the electrics out sum how n fryed the ECU
