Default My new VTR... What a beau.....DOG!!

Hello all, joined up a couple of years ago when I get my first car(1.1 desire) I then went on to a mk4 golf 1.8t but have just changed back to an 02 vtr due to the golf being costly to run and boring as hell to drive!

Picked up this dog of a vtr for £475 yesterday(I really shouldn't of even paid that!). The interior is all in very good condition. But the exterior and engine is something else... Clutch is good and gearbox will do for now. I bought one in this condition so I'm forced to learn about cars. Planning to do my first service and possible cambelt/waterpump change this weekend.

The pictures don't do it justice, the only damage on the paintwork is a small scrape on one side.

Anyone have any ideas whats caused the bumpers to go like that? And what would be the cheapest way of getting them sorted? Sprayed of replaced?

Cheers guys

The black bits showing through?

That's just the standard bump strips that someone has sprayed silver badly and its coming off.

What's up with it then? How many miles has it done?

Does look like a shed to be honest but I think new bumpers (or resprayed) would make a huge difference.

Have a bash at masking the bumps strips off, rub all the silver down and spray the strips Matt or gloss, there fucked anyways so you've got nothing to lose...

Looking into it now. I could try to colour code it again, this time doing it properly
