Default change diesel debit on 1.5d Lucas pump

Hello

I have a Citroen AX with a 1.5d engine from a saxo.

I would like to up the max fuel, but as I have a lucas pump and as I know that screw is behind a plastic cap inside the pump.

I have searched for guides on the internet but I have yet to find anything.

Has anyone done this an taken pictures ? is there a guide somewhere ?

I just would like to not go blidingly as it is at a bit of an awkward position.

Thanks

google for 306 lucas pump adjustment, its likely to be the same, however you will have much less leeway for increasing fuel as you don't have a turbo.

There is this video on youtube.

Someone that has done it can comfirm that the procedure is the same ?

After I'm done adgusting the screw to reprime the pum I just need to squese the hand pum on the engine bay until it gets hard, and I should be fine right ?

Is it really worth upping the fuelling on a NA diesel? You'll get a smidge more poke but the only reason we do it on turbos is so we can add more fuel in with the extra air when we crank up the wastegate. Even then, the max fuel doesn't make too much difference on boost

A friend of mine has a 106 1.5d and it made quite a bit of difference.

Yes that's the correct video, the max fuel is behind that screw.

I haven't watched the video, but NO more than 1/4 of a turn on a Lucas. else your idle will increase. and that complicates things. Also, it'll add too much fuel which will make it slower.

It's easy tuning with the 1.5d bosch, because you can turn the max fuel screw up at idle until it goes from 850-1000 and that's just about right.

It doesn't make a hell of a difference, it's a waste of time really. we're talking about 5hp of difference. You'd probably see more benefit fitting a straight through exhaust.

Oh yes there is

Later models like mine came with a cat too!

So, naturally, I ripped it out
