break in - locked out of car
guys
we were burgled at the weekend and theyve had both sets of saxo keys - i tactically removed starters and gearbox earths and anything else that will stop it running precisely for something like this, they didnt take the cars but as i say i cant start it either.
im now locked out of the car, what are my options?
i imagine il have to smash the window, the drivers door lock was fucked anyway. will i be able to change the barrel with the door shut?
will have to source a barrel, door locks, ecu and immobiliser, im just concerned about how to actually get into the car, whether i will be able to change it all with locked doors, and where to go from here.
Any and all advice welcome

You might aswell smash one of the rear side windows as they'll be easier to replace.
Or if you contact your local recovery companies they should have a kit to break into a car. It's like a poly triangle/wedge shape thing, they jam it in the top of the door, and then feed in a hook to pull the handle.

Smash the rear window mate, someone smashed mine a while back and only cost me a tenner to replace, easy to put back on aswell just held on by 3 bolts under the circle covers that are on the glass

Couldn't you pull the top of the door, wedge it with a block of wood and drop a set of these bad boys down to pull the pin?
Cheaper than a window?
Or even drill out the door lock perhaps?

As this is part of my job I'll tell you, breaking into cars is about damage limitation. You can't do it without breaking something. The easiest way as outlined above involves a wedge, a stick and a cable tie. I'll let you work it out. Failing that drilling a hole behind the number plate in the boot lid allows access to the lock rod. Then just put your number plate back on

The boot sounds like the best option! Gonna go and have a look into pre drilling a hole ready in case my keys get lost etc!

Is that all they took? If you are putting a claim in they will cover the cost of replacement keys new ecu etc.

interested to hear more about this?
Scary how easy these are to break into pmsl!
the bootlid has been smoothed out and has a horiible dinner tray spoiler.. i might even just do the boot lid glass as the whole boot panel will be going anyway?
it can have the boot panel from the vtr i guess.
yeah they had lots of electricals etc but its my car keys that i'm most fucked off about, its been sitting for so long just while i've been acquiring parts, i only needed to get a cheap turbo and a downpipe made up and it was ready to be built. they didn't take any of the bits for the car, so just crackheads looking for a joyride i suppose. could have at least had the decency to bring the keys back you know what i mean?

the doors are locked, will there be enough room to get anything down the door?
the pins have more or less broken off so i don't know if they'd be able to be 'grabbed' by pliers etc.
Would it be possible to cut the whole boot glass out rather than smashing it, bearing in mind i'l be by myself? imagine id need someone to hold it to stop it falling? idfk, if anyones near me (croydon-ish) any hands on help would be greatly appreciated!

Brainwave, in case the insurance wont cover the car keys, can anyone give any info on central locking kits, hawk for example?
Worthwhile? Just thought that way i could even get away with removing the door locks completely although this would heavily rely in the alarm systen being reliable, but then i could just have a spare made and have a seperate fob etc? Would i be able to get around citroen immobiliser etc this way? Then again i imagine even the spares must have a chip in them to deactivate it?

Don't wanna start playing around with immobilisers.... If you remove connections to immobiliser it will lock ecu unless ecu is disconnected.... Bastard things

Try taking the door lock out from outside the car and pulling the lock bar on the back of lock to unlock car?

The locks are only held in by clips on the side of the lock itself

I did mean the house insurance, if the burglary occurred inside the house which I presume it did & the keys were stolen, I would have though the insurance company are liable to get the car/cars running again, but knowing what slippery bastards insurance companies are expect a battle to get them to do it.
