fitting 2nd amp.. - Saxperience

hi guys im fitting another amp 2morrow, my current amp is for the sub, the rca leads for this come from the sub output on the back of the headunit, if i connect rcas between my sub amp and new amp via the pre out on my sub amp will this make a difference to the sound or if i needed to adjust the sound eg the fade of the front comps?? the new amp is for the front comps, thanks guys.

I think you will need to run the RCA leads from the other outputs on your headunit... the sub amp's pre-outs will only play low frequency audio, just un-amplified...

do as Al says or alternatively grab an RCA splitter, F to M and split between the two amp inputs from the single RCA lead. its the easyest way and it works!!

That would be a solution to only needing one set of RCA leads... but wouldn't you still have to move the RCA leads to your other headunit output... as the headunit only passes low frequency out of it's sub outputs... so if you split that you still won't get all of the high end music...

As for the power cable's, if your cable is thick enough to power both amps without overheating then use a distribution block :Y: sold cheaply on caraudiodirect.co.uk

Again no ones asked the most important question.

Are you sure that the power cable you have running in the car can handle enough current for 2 amps?

Also running a 2nd RCA cable down the car is only a 20 minute job and will give better results.

i have run the 2nd set of rcas down the car and a whole new batt cable. its all dun now neway so im well happy
