1. disconnect battery
2. remove the blank switches from the centre panel
3. cut a piece of plastic to the same size as the gap for all 4 blank holes, from where the switches were.
4. cut the top off one of the switch blanks, just under the rim
5. drill a hole about 5mm wide in the plastic (the bit you cut in stage 3)
6. sand the plastic down
7. remove the steering wheel column shrouds, which are held by two torx screws, mount the fuse holder and relay just inside the facia using a self tapping screw, leave it easily accessable incase it blows.
8. locate the ignition multi plug (just down from the ignition switch) and disconnect the starter solenoid wire from the multiplug (the wire has "100" printed on it). connect the starter solenoid wire (100) to the blue wire which leads to the new relay you have just installed. make sure it is the starter solenoid wire you have connected, not the (100) wire which goes to the ignition!
9. Next splice the ignition ("CC01" printed on it) and join the wire from the new relay/fuse that you have fitted.
10. now run the black wirefrom the relay up behind the dashboardto the new starter button.
11. you now need to run and earth wire, from any convienient good earth, up to the new starter button.
12. attach the wires to the back of the starter button and test (after reconnecting battery)
hope this helps
Oli

what screamer put is to put a pust start button, if you are on about a remote start e.g start with a remote on ya keys then its simular to what screamer put but you dont have to moutn a button a box is wired in to the ignition loom however if you have a mk2 saxo u either have to get the ecu unlocked or have to mount the transponder from the key next to the barrel as the immobiliser will stop the car from starting without the key in the barrel if not

normally remote start kits are a bit like turbo timers, they alow the car to run while the key is not in the barrel but if you take the handbrake off the car it will cut out as it can sense from swithes in the ignition barrel and handbrake that there is no key present. so you use remote start to start it up from inside mc d's then when u finished ya meal u can go get in the car but put your key in the barrel before u drive off. that way it will turn off if someone smashes the window and trys to drive off

I have got a mk1 i have a keypad immoboliser, if i disconnect it while the engine is running. Then can i connect the wires from the remote start box. The alarm/remote start i have is a falcon evo4, in the manual it says i need to connect to ignition, starter coil, handbrake light, also the rev counter (which i dont have) Is it an easy thing to do? Cheers

take it to a professional to fit mate as you will have to have the immobiliser disabled for it to work

Dont be lazy use the key. If you have a cat1 alarm it will void it on the insurance. Its just a new thing to go wrong with a saxo

no one will fit it because i havent boughtit from them, anyway i want to do it myself as a project. I can get the bypass for it from were i got the alarm. Didnt think it would be that hard as it is only connected wires and im pretty good with that sort of thing. will check my haynes manual and the installation manual later. Its not a cat1 alarm. Not bothered about insurance approved. Thought if i disconnected the immoboliser while the engine is running this would bypass it.

Trust mate its more hassle than its worth. I'm good mates with people that fit alarms for a living. I asked about having it and they told me it aint worth it. If you havent got a alarm then i would get one first before fitting it. Thats unless you can do it so it cuts out when you dont put the key in

I have an alarm, its an alarm and remote start all in one box. Here is a pic of the installatin manual
Fitting it seems pretty easy, i did all of it apart from boot, bonnet, elec windows and remote start in about an hour. I havent done the boot and bonnet because im not bothered. Does anyone know where the immoboliser relay 85 is? Also would unpluging the immoboliser do the same as bypassing it or will i still need a bypass?
