Default MDF ring

hi guys,

if i were to put an mdf ring behind the saxo plastic speaker cover, could i get a deeper than previously allowed 13cm coaxial speaker in there??? jase

coaxial try components mate as said, with boston s50s they will go straight in no problems and sound excellent, loads of people have them on here and they are well recommended

I would go for them if i had the money, plus too much faffing around with the sodding tweeter!!!

P.s. Commonly asked question but have found no answers - does anyone know off hand, or even through some research:

what you can get away with, in terms of front speaker mounting depth!!

any help appreciated!

well its just a case of putting the window down then trial fitting the speaker if it dont go in then use a spacer by all means

58mm depth comes to mind but I may be wrong. I know that you can gain about another 15mm extra by using a MDF ring. Personally I would always mount a speaker on a MDF ring anyway to get a better installation for just a few pence and 10 mins of time.
