it all depends but most insurance companys work on the same factors
age,
ncb,
postcode area,
car,
accidents,
points,

you can get monthly insurance.
www.ecarinsurance.co.uk or com.
saxos have gone up insurance wise, i was 18 paying £850 (second driver) now 20 with driving experience. no points etc but 1 crash and they want £1100-ish.
Im getting cheaper quotes on other cars though which are double the insurance group though! they wont insure me on a VTS at all.

Just out of curiosity, try putting your mum or dad down as a named driver! With their no claims and years driving this could bring the premium down! I know it does it with Elephant x

i got a quote of £1200 fully comp on a VTS, im 18, 0 no claims, 6 months had liscence. (10 month) think 12 month was like 1500 either way still amazing.
I put my mum as an additional driver etc. Was well shocked when it came out @ 1.2k

You sure thats 100%? Most people including me are lucky get a quote for about that on a VTR tpff, let alone fully comp! I cant even get a quote that good with pass plus!

A 10mth bonus accelerator should count as 1yrs NCB if you stay with the same company or group. Eg Elephant, Bell, Diamond, Admiral. That's the point of them

if you are prepared to put an experienced driver as the main driver and you as the named driver make sure you go with a company that also gives you no claims bonus too. if not the price doesnt drop that much when you put yourself as the main driver. my boyfriend was my main driver and its up for renewl soon, im only going to save £100 and no bonus when i put me as main.

the quote of 1700 seemed cheap to me, for someone of your age.
Im 19, Been driving 10 months and pay 1300 for a saxo 1.1 without them knowing of all of what ive had done to it and its only fire and theft!, if i would of knew a vtr would of only cost 400 extra a year i wouldve had one no probs. Give it a few months and im going to start looking for vtr, when my quotes are reasonable...
