Screw missing in hub??? - Saxperience

Just put my alloys on the car and taken the standard VTR alloys off, when I removed a rear VTR alloy a gold screw just fell on the floor must have worked loose from the hub, I tried to screw it back in with an allan type key but it would only go in so far????

What should I do? what will happen with 1 screw in the hub if I keep driving? Is the missing screw causing the ping and not the roll bar bolt that seems tight?

do you mean the screw that goes through the brake disc to hold it to the hub? If so the wheel bolts hold the disc on anyway and should cause any adverse noises

i think scott means 'shouldnt' cause adverse noises

the screws to hold the disc to the hub are just to make it easier to put a wheel on so the stay in place

not a big issue without them

cheers guys!! I was on a massive paranoia trip. Lol I thought the wheel went on the hub and the hub to the disk!

The 2 screws are the ones that lay next to the holes the alloys nuts go into in front of the disk. I've never changed disks so I dont know much about their design, so I will get new holes (lol) when I change the disks?

I had a look at the roll bar nuts but they seemed very tight on. The ping has become more frequent with the 16's on, driving me mad.

tiny little screw? if so its a locating screw that doesnt really do anything as said, wouldnt worry about it, my old sax lost all of them over time through taking disks on and off.

Yeah just a tiny gold screw/bolt with the star key type head on it that goes into one of the two holes next to the 4 alloy bolt holes.

I don't think I could get it back in if I tried, most be a thread problem.

yeah thats the two bolts that hold the disc in place. No problem without them the wheel and wheel bolts wont let the disc go anywhere.

I also wouldnt trust that the bolts look tight, take them out and replace them if you have some M8 bolts handy and then tighten them back up
