Default scratch & swirl removal?

Have had a quick look and couldn't find any direct answers to this question...

I was looking at my car paint underneath a spot light at night and i have lots of very small swirls marks... probably from previous owner or when i first got it, as i didn't really know how to whore my car properly...

Can anyone recommend a good swirl removal compound? I can't afford a porter cable although that would be the ideal solution...

Have heard of meg's scratch-X is that any good?

Looking to give my car one very thorough clean, and want to get the paint looking new...

thanks...
Alex

If you haven't got a pc and cant afford one, then you can always give the Poorboys swirl removers a try. They come in different grades, depending how bad the swirls are.

Menzerna intensive polish also gives good results by hand. Apply it with a German applicator pad.

Hi mate i have tried scratch-X and i really dont rate it. I bought 2 bottles of BlackFire SRC Compound from polishedbliss and have only used half of 1.

I am selling the other bottle unopend and still sealed, retailed at about £16.85 + delivery and im looking for about £14 delivered.

BlackFire is a really good brand as im sure people will tell you.

I also don't rate megs scratch x at all.

Thinks some of the poorboys stuff would work much better.

Thanks guys Think im going to order some of the poorboys stuff...

Although next time i give it a clean im going to use some of the poorboys polish with sealant i have already, and see if that makes and of the swirls disappear... although autoglym super high resin polish seems to make the flake of my car stand out better...

Sorry ChrisJ - i can't rep you im afraid... will do when i can

You wont see great results by hand to be honest. I imagine it will take some hard work to get the defects out without a pc.

Maybe i'll have to see if there is someone around here with a porter cable, that fancies giving my car a proper whoring

There are lots of very fine swirls.. not deep ones... only visible under artificial light...

Might give some poorboys stuff a go and see how i get on

oooo my resident cleaning whore friend

Had no idea the autoglym stuff had fillers in it! maybe i'll try that and then use the poorboys polish with sealant on top of it, as that is meant to remove some mild swirls...
