Default 16" alloys and 40mm lowered all round?

hey Sax-p people im new to the forum, and im pretty sure its been asked before but here goes..

can i fit 16" Peugeot alloys with 195/45/16 tyres to my mk2 VTR?

and still lower the car 40mm front and back?
or will i need to do anything to the arches?

advice would be more then helpful

umm 45 might get some rub, i got 195/40/16 tyres on my vtr with a 50mm at the front and 40 at the rear, for the front u might be pushing it but if your lowering the back by that much, if you have 2 people in the back it drops further and that may very well rub. if u can afford it id advise 40 profile tyres only 5mm difference but may make all the difference.

I got 195/45/16's on mine and lowered 40mm all round. Rubs just on full lock, but barely anything, and rubs if i have anyone more than say 11 stone in the back.

ok sounds fair enough, i rarely have passengers in the back, so i dont really need to worry about that

so it could be done, but pushing it a little?

Its not even really pushing it, think it looks perfect IMO! My arches sit just nicely around wheel as seen above.
