I love Brentacre...
It's official... i love brentacre...
I have just started a new policy with them... which isn't a bad price... im named on my mums policy... on my saxo furio.. with all mods declared (angel eyes, leather seats, backbox, and vts alloys)... which comes in at £600.. fully comp... not bad for a 19year old...
I just called them up today to confirm they had all of the modifications listed, and to tell them i was lowering my car tomorrow... and apparently it won't affect my premium... the guy on the phone was a legend... apparently any cosmetic mod is considered minor and wont affect the premium (i just need to call them to tell them) and you can do a certain amount of engine mods, it only goes up if you go over a certain horse power limit...so induction kit shall be ordered soon
In his exact words he said: " we try to encourage people to mod their cars, it means they'll take better card of them!"
Would thoroughly recommend them to any young drivers on parents policies!
Cheers
Alex

Yes there website is crap... but there customer service over the phone is awesome! They are a broker.. so they don't really need a fancy website...

The price isnt too good considering you on your mum's policy, your best off getting your own insurance it works out cheaper in the long run, cause when you do want to get your own insurance you will have no "no claims" so it will still be expensive

The policy was arranged with kerry, but i think i spoke to john this morning about mods...
xclairex - don't forget im male, insurance companies hate us passionately
it's not worth me getting my own policy.. in my own name most companies wouldn't insure me with mods.. endsleigh quoted for £4k! cheapest i got was about £2k... and that's rediculous.. i'll get my own policy when im over 21... £600 was a good price... most other companies quoted between £800 and £1200... only other quoted that compared was budget - £650.. but they had to check out the mods first... so couldn't guarantee their quote.. this policy is only using half my mums no claims bonus... the other half is on her other car...
Last year i was insured with Norwhich union, and it cost me £680 with just alloys and backbox... the renewal notice came through at £1350!!! nothing had changed to the policy.. they said "it was loading, as lots of people have made claims" lol! so i shopped around

My renewal this year was £300!!!!!
Unlimited cosmetic/brakes/suspension/interior mods. Power limited to 180 bhp!
You always get a really personal service from them as well. Highly recommended
