Green Scoop cone filter change
Whe I was cleaning my Green enclosed scoop at the weekend I couldnt help notice how dirty mainly full of dead flies very nice
So I know cleaning stuff is only cheap but I was wondering does any know if a Pipercross Foam item could be fitted?
Was just something I was thinking about last nite, never had a foam filter apart from a Sock on a SU carb on my metro but I dont think that counts.
Any help greatly welcomed

I don't understand the question. You already have a Green cotton filter right? And you want to replace this with a PiperX foam filter?

I have one of these . . .
Enclosed Scoop - and the internal cotten filter (Green) is very dirty.
I wondered if Pipercross do a small enough Foam filter that will fit inside as Ive never had a Foam filter and fancied a change rather than clean the Green item.

Gotcha!
Well, I believe the Green cotton filter is the best you can get. Did your kit come with a proper Green filter, or was a little diddy one?
I have a similar setup. My kit is from Ecosse. The actual filter part is from PiperX and is very big, it squeezes inside the enclosed box. I've changed this a few times for a new one, as cleaning went a bit pear shaped when I tried. Basically over did the dirt retention oil, LOL.
Anyway, I have now gone with a Green cotton filter instead of the PiperX foam filter. No difference really, but it's cleaner. The foam filter tends to be more oily IMO...
My advice, would be to get the Green cotton filter, known as the 'Powerflow' model - This will be my next purchase if i don't go with a TB setup so soon as hoped. The 'Powerflow' Green filter has a whole directly at the front, which is good for the enclosed setup, as air shoots in toward the front.
Hope this helps.

for the sake of cleaning its not really worth buying a brand new filter. One of the points of cotton filters is they are easy to clean and reoil.
The standard filter will also flow enough air for any of your performance mods. The one we add to the raceland (b3.80) is rated for 208bhp
You can pay extra for the powerflow model but it wont really do anything other than lighten your wallet a bit more.
If you insist I can find out the price of one though

thats alot when you think Kam Racing supply a green filter with their kits for around that price in total

So from you Kam, How much is the standard Green Cone you sell.
Mine is an offical Green Kit and the cone is uber dirty. I can check the size but I guess its the same size as the item you sell to upgrade the RaceLand to the Green item isnt it?

Off the top of my head I do not know the part number for the filter in the green enclosed kit. We are getting a delivery in the next day or two and I can have a look to see what one is fitted. The one we fit to the raceland may have a different neck angle

The filter that you need if you are replacing the cone in the Green Forced Induction kit is the K2.65. Rated to flow enough for 178bhp and costs £32 at the Kam Racing store.
Also the B2.65 filter should fit the housing. This is rated to 204bhp and costs £33
For anyone with a turbo or supercharger there is the twin cone version B2.65BC that flows enough for over 230 at £46.99

Thats hand to know thank you Kam - I reckon the K2.65. should be fine as I running 178bhp with my eBay chip at present but as soon as my Electric Supercharger turns up I'll need the B2.65.BC 230bhp . . . .
hehehehehehe
All joking aside - I'll make a note of that and when Ive sorted my hubs out and Im back on the road I'll get in contact with you and have one. Thanks for all your help so far Kam-Racing

Out of interest would the last cone mentioned with the double cone fit inside the Green Scoop?
As I imagin that would improve the amount of air drawn in by the filter because of the open top.

yes it will fit inside the scoop. what the extra cone means is that any air hitting the scoop head on will be sucked in rather than traveling around the outside
i'll post a comparism of the external dimensions later
