Another 360 question..
I had an xbox years ago and enjoyed it very much but PC gaming took over and college took over that and now college is ending I want to get a 360
My problem is though I don't have a tv..
I gave my TV to my gran because she went in to a home and hers was too big, and before you ask I can't have hers because my sister nicked it
I never really used it anyway..
So can I put an xbox 360 on to a pc monitor? and how?
Repage btw!

Yeah my little brother uses his PC monitor for the 360. He needs to have the PC running at the same time in order to get sound though (not sure if that's normal)

Cheers guys! I'm getting it off a mate as I would like one but having had an xbox before a couple of years ago I never really liked paying 40 quid for the games so this time around going for second hand stuff... being a student it less pain on the wallet as well!
But the best this is it comes with a VGA Cable, I didn't put 2 and 2 together lol
Anyway I'll post up my xbl gamer tag when I get it and give you guys some games! Can't wait for pgr4!
Its all paid for but picking it up Thursday so I can finish the last bits of my college work

Yeah you'll get Hi-def on a PC monitor. I run mine through a 19" HansG one. Its only £120 from MicroDirect. There quality. Got a cheap £25 Aldi style 5.1 system too. Its actualy bloody good
Go for the official VGA cable only as there can be some issues with the 3rd party makes.

That LG monitor is sweet!!
I'd rather a small HD monitor over a large SD televesion EVERY TIME!!

If you use the VGA cable it wont be HD, VGA carries an analogue signal. You need to be using a DVI or HDMI cables & ports for that. I dont know what output the 360 has but i imagine theres an HDMI socket on it.
In wich case you will need a PC monitor with a DVI input and you need to get an HDMI-to-DVI cable to connect the 2!

Did they ever release the Zephyr 360's or was that all just a load of speculation & photoshops?

HD video (not sound) is just higher resolution than SD standard definition or TV resolution is 420i (I think). It doesn't matter if the image is Digital or Analogue. The VGA cable enables the image to be displayed at a high definition resolution of 720p or 1080i (1080p on certain games and HD video) It is not upscaled ether.
The 360 does not have HDMI (As yet) It has composite (also HD video) or VGA. Trust me I am 100% certain that the 360 can display HD resolutions.

That was its project name
Its release name is Xbox 360 Elite
Quote:
The Xbox 360 Elite (previously codenamed "Zephyr") is a Microsoft Xbox 360 that adds a 120GB hard drive, a HDMI port,[1] and a new matte black finish. It was officially announced by Microsoft on March 27, 2007 that it would be launched in the United States on April 29, 2007, Canada on May 4, 2007, with the European launch date being described as "soon",[2] with some sources expecting a release in late summer.[3]
The console, packaging, peripherals, and specifications are available on Microsoft's Xbox website.[4] The console can play all Xbox 360 games and a number of Xbox games with backwards compatibility, as is the case with the other Xbox 360 versions. A hard drive (either 20 or 120GB) is required to play original Xbox games.
