Ok people... this is THE official "teach yourself Dutch" thread...

Hopefully you can give me a taster of the simple things, before I do decide to actually learn the language as a whole.

By translating it leterally, do you mean replacing the Dutch words directly for English.... or are the above translation actually how the sentances would be spoken.. <img src= "smileys/smiley2.gif">

I leterally replace the english word directly for the dutch word.Thats why it sounds really stupid in dutch.

Oi! Only the monkey fister thingy is a bad translation, the rest is spot on!

And yes, reetridder means gay. You use it like this: Wouter is een reetridder. <img src= "smileys/wink.gif">
