I'm trying to work out your problem, you are afraid that you only have 1 pre-out yet you are upgrading from an amp that only requires 1 pre-out to and amp that requires 2.
From what I can tell, were you planning on getting the original sub and amp deal with the intention of getting another amp to power your components in the future, hence 2 pre-outs in the end but you found out you only have 1 pre-out.
I take it you thought that you could get a 4 channel and run both the sub and components, but didn't realise that a 4 channel amp requires 2 rca cables, 1 for the sub and 1 for the comps, therefore the HU needs 2 pre-outs.
There is a way around this, you can buy RCA splitters that can enable you to use 2 pre-outs when a HU only has 1. Something along the lines of these,
RCA Splitter. Could be Male to Female or Vice Versa, depends what connectors are on your amp and head unit.
