wrong section.

but yeh this is a common problem. turning it on its side when its on causes it to scratch the disc. not alot you can do.

think viper said his local gamestation can repair some discs...

does say in the manual not to do it.

Rent the same game from blockbuster.
swap it over when you return it and say it never worked.

You get a working disc plus a free rental

I did the Blockbuster thing for my copy of Lost Planet, the younger cousin got hold of it and it got scratched, completely unreadable, rented it out, swapped over and all was ok.

My mate has tried it but they checked the disc before he took it and and upon return got served by the same person and she knew the state of the disc when he took it out and wouldnt accept it!

They do have "rental version" copies too, which in my eyes are no way different to retail purchased ones, just have different coding on them i think, not too sure, but ive seen them about lately.

Gears of War FTW!

If it is only a small scratch its more of a scuff and can be cleaned with appropriate cleaning fluid and a microfibre cloth.

Sometimes a microfibre cloth alone will do the trick. If the scratch is too deep you will need some of the underside grinded off (loads of these services on ebay, costs about £2 and a 1 week total time sending and receiving). I had to do this with my GoW.

But a swap trick works well if you have a rental shop near
