Default Problem with head gasket

Engine has been stripped and headgasket had a hole in it causing low compression between two cylinders. Head has been skimmed and now looking sweet but the block is slightly marked as well.

How long is this going to last if the block doesn't get skimmed as well?

depends on how bad the block is to be fair so I think pictures are necessary
Why not get a good used bottom end if its too far gone?

Just get it skimmed and get the shiny bit showing so hg sits in place and it will last longer
