Default What do the different temperature sensors do and do I have problems?
In the first picture you can see sensor A is on the top and sensor B on the bottom. What do they both do?

Also I am not sure if sure if my sensors are wrong:

sensor A you will see the plug has 3 pins but there are only 2 wires coming from the back?

The sensor on the bottom (sensor B) only has one pin, whereas you will see the plug has two terminals, but there is just one wire at the back?

I would be grateful if someone could clarify these things as I am a little confused

iirc the three pin is ecu and gauge, single pin is warning light

So which one of you is right for the gauge? Welshpug says the 3 pin is for ECU and gauge (one at top) but Ben says bottom one is for Gauge?

Also why don't the number of wires match up with the terminals?

Get yourself a free account on the citroen service website,put your vin number in.Then you'll get exploded diagrams with part numbers etc.

Is that still working I tried to use it the other day & it gave back an error in French along the lines it was unavailable

I can't seem to get that to work, what site are you referring to?

I only presume that the top one is for ECU, as I replaced it and my temperature gauge still does not work. I also replaced the clocks and it still does not work. The only thing I have not replaced is that lower sensor, but I wonder if it is correct? You will see the sensor plug has two terminals, but the one screwed in only has one - maybe a previous owner fitted the wrong one - hence I can't get the temperature sensor to work?

Just pull the plugs when its running, fan will cut in if you unplug the one for the ecu
