mi-16/vts -gti-6 conversion??????
right theres a wee chance i could be getting a wicked red mk1 vtr....and was thinkin of a conversion.
theres a guy that goes trackdaying in northern ireland here, in a bog standard looking ax...but he has an mi-16 engine with cams and head done running on twin 45s etc, and it embarrasses 400bhp cossies on straights!
has anyone here done the conversion on a saxo??? and if so, whats the ins and outs? mounts???? looms??? any modifications to chassis etc??? as much info is needed people!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pug1Off fit GTi-6 engines into 106 / 205, so im guessing they'd do a Sax too.

several threads on it.
need bits machining for it and a few modifications.
for the lb torque it produces is an interesting option. alot say it will handle like a boat, im not to sure if thats the case.

Think thats the main reason why Bic is going for the 2 litre next, he said something about having more torque..
Yeah i have always had the belief it wont fuck up the handling, the 205's were fine and they are like the same size car and a similar designed chassis etc as the saxo..
You may need to upgrade the suspension to some stiffer items to aid the extra weight of the engine..

and because everyone laughed at his cars performance
be interesting to see how the new engine performs, if the hype wasnt there about bic during the build i think there wouldnt have been so many people disapointed with its times.
Also something to remeber is with gti-6 the 6speed box is better off ditched.

Its not slow though, much more suited to actual track driving than 1/4 miles imo..
That thing would be a serious weapon tbh..
About the hype thing, yeah i agree..It was built to Super 1600 spec, not to be the fastest N/A 1600 106 on the planet..i think alot of people forgot that..

I think Bic did think he could get the fastest n/a engine, but as he is not an engine builder he relies on others to tell him what he should build. Sadely the new engine is again being built to a race spec and not the fastest n/a engine. 270bhp will be fast though so I doubt anyone will complain this time lol

True..The 1600 has a spec any track enthusiast would wish for who owns a 106/saxo..
Fairplay though if he can do it..I would if i could afford to tbh..:d

the whole thing about bic building it though was so he had HIS own 1600 spec car, people used to say on forums why not just buy an ex works one, i used to read because he wanted his own one that was un abused etc...
people used to say turbo it etc.. but would get its being built to maxi spec...
so putting a 2.0L in is going against all has been said from day one lol
