Default help please

Once ive driven my car for maybe 10 mins or so,sometimes when i change gear it revs very slightly but doesnt do it when i first drive it.Also if im in a low gear if take my foot off the accelerator it will go on its own,where as normally it would slow down obviously,its not all the time this is happening,just every so often,any ideas,its a mark 1 vts btw

It sounds sensor related. TPS maybe? It's guess work. I would get it on a diagnostics. Best go to Pug / Cit and expect to be charged 1/2 hours labour.

opened my bonnet up to find that my k&n air filter had dropped off,put it back on and took it for a wee spin and it seemed fine,could this have been my problem or

Shouldn't be mate. If the filter is off, you would just have a slightly better air flow. But the K&N shouldn't be restricting the air flow in the first place, so taking it off, should not make any difference to performance. Obviously it's not ideal to have it off though!
