Default Fooooked over by Citroen?

Took my car into the local citroen garage today for them to take my dash off and fix my speedo by plugging the plug back in (90% likely to be the cause of the problem). instead of doing this they just put it on a proxia and checked all the feeds going into the pod. correct me if im mistaken but this is not taking the dash off and checking the little plug thing. Anyway they charged my £70 and said i need a new pod costing £750? Big time annoyed at the moment not just because of this but because everthing else seems to be breaking(gear rod). sorry for the boring rant, whet do you guys think, have they purely just conned me?
regards, Luke

you cant get charged for work you DIDNT AGREE TO DO,

ie you couldnt say take a look at my car i think it needs a new spring... yea mate come back in an hr..

1 hr later.

yea we fixed it and a few other things you owe us 10000K

(EXTREME CASE) but you see my point they cant legally do that

750£?s worth of parts behind the dash need sorting THEY ON FKN SMACK, you could buy another saxo for that

yea but i just asked them to take the dash off to see if it was the plug causing the faulty speedo and all they did is plug it into some stupid computer and charge me for like 2 minutes work, what does 'check all feeds going into pod' mean? that doesnt involve taking the dask off does it?

if they quoted you 60. + the fact didnt make you aware they were doing that when you told them what you wanted to do they cant charge you. ull need to speak to a manager and take it further but they cant get away with that

if its just the plug that needs plugging back in the you can do it yourself and if you need new dials then you can fit them yourself aswell and get citroen to clock the mileage back to what it should be

im wondering why you wanted dash taking out for speedo, as mark says you can take it out yourself and buy another one and stick that in and see if it works, if so problem solved!
